No. 43 Sorenson Homestead Preview

STATESVILLE, N.C. — Reed Sorenson drives the No. 43 SIEMENS Dodge at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend. The 23-year-old Peachtree City, Ga. native is behind the wheel of the No. 43 made famous by team co-owner Richard Petty for the final time for Richard Petty Motorsports.

- In four Sprint Cup Series starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Sorenson has one top-20 finish (16th, 2006).
- Sunday marks Sorenson’s 145th career Sprint Cup Series start and fifth at HMS.
- Sunday marks Sorenson’s final race driving the famed No. 43 Dodge for Richard Petty Motorsports.
- In Sorenson’s one season behind the wheel of the No. 43 he has one top-10 (ninth in the Daytona 500) and four top-15 finishes (last, 13th at Indianapolis) and led five laps.
- Crew Chief Sammy Johns started the season with AJ Allmendinger in the No. 44 before moving to the No. 43 with Sorenson starting at Michigan-2.
