RICHARD PETTY MOTORSPORTS
WIX

WIX Filters, a subsidiary of the Affinia Group, has been an innovative global leader in filtration products since 1939. Founded in Gastonia, N.C., WIX filters brought early advancements to the industry when a steel shortage threatened production efforts during World War II by creating an oil filter out of a paper tube, wooden plugs, and yarn. In 1954, WIX patented the first spin-on oil filter.

Today, WIX designs, manufactures, and distributes products for automotive, diesel, agricultural, industrial, and specialty filter markets. Its product line includes oil, air, cabin interior, fuel, coolant, transmission, and hydraulic filters for automobiles, trucks, and off-road equipment.

WIX Filters partnered with Richard Petty long before loyal subjects affectionately crowned him "The King" of NASCAR. In 1967, Petty began using WIX Filters to protect his stock engines, and a winning relationship that has stood the test of time was born.

Of his partnership with WIX Petty stated, "WIX Filters and I have enjoyed a long history together. In this day and age you don't very often come across companies that have stood behind one person for such a long time, and that's one of the things that makes the partnership between WIX, me, and Richard Petty Motorsports so special."

WIX Filters has also donated oil, air, and fuel filters to meet needs at Petty's Victory Junction Gang Camp. Their contributions have lowered engine maintenance expenses for the Camp and enabled valuable resources and donations to be directed where they are most needed.

WIX's relationship with NASCAR includes the WIX Filters Lap Leader Award, which recognizes drivers leading the most laps in each race.
